CRAWL (Children Resolution and Women
Learning) Society is a Volunteer Organization who welcomes all National and
International Volunteers and Students to participate in different welfare
activities for the under privileged children and women in India. Our foremost
objective is to make better world for the poor children and women. Therefore we
need many volunteers, who have the same desire for a better world for our
children and deprived women, to share some experiences with us. |
Our mission includes several interrelated projects:. First, we have established a non-formal free school, the Shikshan Project (The Educational center) for the poor children. In addition we identify bright students from our school who have a desire to learn; Crawl then works to match these children with sponsors from around the world who can help pay for their education, so that the children will have a better chance at life as adults. Children from the school as well as sponsored students also have access to a computer program where they develop computer communication skills. Crawl also benefits the slum women of Kolkata by providing vocational training and education. These are the Mahila Shachetanata (Women Awareness) Project and the Swanirvar (Self Help Group) Project. The Pathashishu Unnayan Project (Street Children Beneficial Projects) provides food, education, crafts, and games to the street children of Sealdah and DumDum train stations. The Pathashishu Unnavan Project also includes wound care for the children and the street people. This project involves direct contact with the poorest of the poor who live on the streets in Kolkata. Crawl’s newest program cares for a small group of street dogs that live near the flat. |
